Stasis might have the perfect solution to hospital bed shortages around the world resulting from COVID-19.

Over the next few weeks, our ScaleHealth family is making the necessary moves to combat COVID-19. Here are some of their stories.

Los Angeles-based Stasis might have the perfect solution to hospital bed shortages around the world resulting from COVID-19.

ScaleHealth: What does your company do?

Stasis: Stasis is an FDA-cleared, remote monitoring system for any care setting. Stasis Hardware gathers vital signs at the bedside. Stasis Software converts any computer, TV, tablet, or smartphone into a central monitoring dashboard.

ScaleHealth: How are you responding to CV-19?

Stasis: We can help with the impending hospital bed shortage. Use the Stasis FDA-cleared, remote monitoring system in hospitals, tents, hotels, dorm rooms. Anywhere. Setup in a few hours to reduce the patients requiring ICU resources, saves hundreds of staff hours per day, and limit clinician exposure to COVID.

ScaleHealth: How has business changed for you as a result of the outbreak?

Stasis: Our solution was fortunately built to be very helpful in times like this. So we are 100% focused on bringing our existing solution to care providers in the fight against COVID.

ScaleHealth: How can your business support those fighting the outbreak of impacted by CV-19?

Stasis: Flexibly launch central monitoring in hospitals, tents, hotels, and dorm rooms for faster response to patient deterioration. Preserve ICU resources for ventilated patients by expanding monitoring across all beds. Reduce risk of exposure and save ~200 clinician hours per day by not entering patient rooms to check vital signs. Setup full system in a few hours. Only need power.

ScaleHealth: What silver lining do you see in these crazy times?

Stasis: I believe the lasting impact this will have on healthcare innovation is net positive. Care providers and the broader system is getting exposed to new digital health tools. Once you use a “smartphone”, most don’t want to go back to a “flip phone”. I think we will see many examples within healthcare. The result I believe is an accelerated rate of adoption of new technologies that increase the capacity and quality of our healthcare system.
